Hello! My name is Michelle and I’ve dedicated my career to creative strategy and branding. I have a passion for visual storytelling and a love for people leadership.

At present, I’m a creative leader with Banfield Pet Hospital, a Mars Inc. brand. I supervise a team of designers to create and deploy all external and internal brand comms and marketing projects for the practice. I use a scaled, best-in-class strategic approach, from the genesis and supervision of specific creative activations and processes to visual brand development.

After getting my B.A in Architectural Design and M.S. in Graphic Communications, I cut my teeth in the trenches of production and design layout for print shops and ad agencies. I have created visual brands for prominent firms and developed creative strategy for VISA, Intel, IBM, and Sutter Health. I’ve taken on creative projects at Google: Apps, Wallet, Android, and YouTube, just to name a few.

I’m passionate about mentorship and career development for up-and-coming creatives. I love it so much that I’ve taught design courses and volunteered for portfolio reviews at the Art Institute of Sunnyvale and the Art Institute of Charlotte. I also believe very strongly in a more inclusive culture, so I co-founded and co-lead the PRIDE Network at Banfield, which supports all associates and clients in being their authentic selves.

On a sidenote, I’m a pet-lover and have volunteered with several animal rescue services. I’m a hiking enthusiast and foodie and I meditate daily with a ten-step skincare routine. I live in Portland, Oregon with my husband, along with our dog and two cats.
